Feelin Kinda Homeless
Nov 2nd
So I’m back in Toronto now after a gorgeous week in Vancouver. I say gorgeous because in the entire week I was back in my own apartment, it only rained twice… Anyways, I’m kind of feeling homeless right now but not in like a sad puppy-dog at the shelter kind of way, nor in a gross dirty-begger kind of way. I’m feeling homeless because I just had a conversation with someone in the office where they asked me how my trip to “The West Coast,” went. I corrected him telling him I was actuall at “home,” then he proceeded to correct me More >
Recapping The First Week in Toronto
Sep 20th
Brace yourselves kids, this is going to be interesting.
So after the difficult goodbyes with everyone last Saturday I arrived in Toronto quite late in the afternoon only to be greeted with the news of Air Canada forgetting over 70 bags in Vancouver. After a plethora of complaints from angry over-aged men with their trophy wives, the representative seemed to get fed up and went on the loud speaker. He told everyone that our bags would be arriving on the very next flight from Vancouver, but that flight wouldn’t land for another 3 hours. Brilliant. So, without anything other than my lap top More >
Farewell Vancouver
Sep 11th
Hey Penguin Pack,
Big news to share that probably won’t be changing the production of this blog. I’ll be moving across the country this weekend and the next time you read a post from the Bloated Penguin it will be from Toronto and no longer Vancouver. I’m saying farewell to the only city I’ve ever called home and with it, many people I’ve grown up with, places I’ve grown to love and very specific “things,” that I never knew meant so much to me.
Sure it has been difficult saying goodbye to all of my friends and family, but one of the things that More >
10 Days Till Fringe Premier
Sep 7th
Please share in my excitement when I remind you that the season premier of Fringe is a mere 10 days away!!!!
As a HUGE fan of the series and its creator, this is probably one of the most anticipated days of the year for me. The off season provided some big news in that the series would be moving to Vancouver for production so I’m really excited to see how my home town will be featured on one of the best shows on television right now. Couple that with all of the hints the series has been dropping of late and you More >
Recreation of the Procrastination Station
May 31st
I work from home (primarily in my pajamas with a cup of a coffee), which definitely has its perks. I can get up and leave any time I want. If I really just don’t feel like doing anything, I just won’t do anything and I never have anyone around me to constantly remind me that I’m on a deadline, or that something is due within the next few hours. When I first started out this was great. I made my own schedules, left enough video game time and work life was peachy. But after doing this for a while now More >
Grabbing my canoe and hitting the I-5
Jan 9th
Tons of flood warnings for the one weekend in January that I’ll be headed south. I had planned on going down to hang out with some friends, but from the looks of it, I should probably bring a life jacket and paddle.
BTW – it is ridiculously difficult to find informaiton (even on this internet thing) on the specifics of road closures and warnings driving from Vancouver to Seattle…
