Sadly, No… I Was Not A Voice in Up
Jan 21st
So I got this interesting FB message last evening. It seems as though my profile pics have been fooling people (or at the very least, this guy) into thinking that I was some how associated with the flick Up! Officially no, I had no part in the creation, distribution or production of Pixar‘s awesome animated flick from last year. What I will take somewhat credit for is that mysteriously they stole my physical appearance from my youth.
Okay, it was most likely a fluke that the character of Russell is basically an animated version of me from ages 6-11, but I watch More >
Slightly Disappointed With Summer 09 Movies So Far
Jul 12th
I have to admit, I’m not totally sold on all of the flicks that have come out this summer. Last night I popped out and watched Bruno expecting it to steal some of the laughter that other summer movies have failed to garner, but I guess it just wasnt’ meant to be. So far my plate has consisted of:
Transformers 2 – lame
Public Enemies – long
Bruno – too much genetalia
Terminator Salvation – McG didn’t get it
On the other hand, there have been three flicks that I would recommend to anyone and everyone.
Up! – Amazing
Star Trek – Wonderful Entertainment
Hangover – 2009 Hit
So basically what I’m saying is that the success More >
Seattle Trip Recap Part I
Jun 8th
Even though my post-birthday trip to Seattle was only a few days, the GF and I accomplished quite a bit. Because of this, I’ll split this post up over a couple of days so nobody gets too bored reading through it.
The drive down was amazing. The sun was out and I actually got a terrible T-Shirt tan through the moon roof of the boat we call a car. As with many border crossing travelers, my main concern on the way down south was passing trhough American customs. If you’ve followed my adventures with customs then you’ll agree, that these people generally More >
Pixar May Have Stolen My Identity
May 29th
I’m sure at least a few of you out there have heard of a little company named Pixar. They make these really interesting looking cartoons and, yeah, a butt-load of cash while they do it. Anyways, their latest film UP features an old crickety man who travels around South America. I haven’t read the entire synopsis, but I have seen the cast of characters. Of course there’s the old man, and apparently there’s a talking dog, but what really struck me (and I have to thank Cyrus Matthew Daniel Howard for pointing this out) is that there’s this chunky kid in the More >
Oh Nine Summer Flicks
May 2nd
I’m gonna take a short break from updating the Cali stories to let people catch up; instead I thought I’d do something a little bit helpful. Here are the latest trailers for every movie that I will be lining up to see this Summer. Ready? Okay here we go:
Star Trek
Transformers 2
Harry Potter
Moon
Inglourious Basterds
Public Enemies
Up
Terminator
Funny People
The Hangover
Bruno
Another Trailer… Yup its UP!
Mar 9th
Pixar looks to have done it again. Their latest feature Up! has been hitting the trailer wire for a while now, but they have just recently released a new one that introduces a new character. In the past, Pixar has tackled issues with the environment, the family dynamic and even the ocean, but with this new story it looks like they’ll be venturing into new territory. Up! looks to focus on (for lack of a better term) old people…
I’m a big fan of Pixar’s work, but for me it’s mostly been about the shorts they create (and clean up the Oscars More >
