Loving The Distillery District, But Not The Segway
Dec 14th
Not my picture, totally stole this
So I just moved into my new place and headed on down to the Distillery District in Toronto. Love it. The chocolate factory speaks to me on so many levels and I could probably spend hours just walking around and checking out the galleries. I know I know, before you deem me a hipster, please read on.
The Distillery is great, with one exception, Segway. Amidst a plethora of art galleries, boutique shops and coffee houses is a Segway shop and tour that sticks out like a bad rash. I’m going to go on a bit of More >
Well Hello There Toronto Winter
Dec 9th
So after holding out for a good three months, Mother Nature has decided to pick today to show me what living in Toronto is going to be like for the better part of 10 months. I’m not upset at this by any means, but I was getting used to the teased cold and the ill advised rainfall. I guess a few inches of snow isn’t going to kill me.
Who am I kidding? This is ridiculous. I can understand that because I’m no longer living in Vancouver it is going to take some time to adjust but as soon as I More >
Feelin Kinda Homeless
Nov 2nd
So I’m back in Toronto now after a gorgeous week in Vancouver. I say gorgeous because in the entire week I was back in my own apartment, it only rained twice… Anyways, I’m kind of feeling homeless right now but not in like a sad puppy-dog at the shelter kind of way, nor in a gross dirty-begger kind of way. I’m feeling homeless because I just had a conversation with someone in the office where they asked me how my trip to “The West Coast,” went. I corrected him telling him I was actuall at “home,” then he proceeded to correct me More >
Got Midieval Last Night
Oct 23rd
Hey kids,
So as some of you know (all 3 of you who actually read this blog – thanks Mom) I was recently treated to an evening of chivalry and competition. Where do you go for such a well-rounded night of entertainment? Midieval Times!!!!!
The new work crew out in Toronto found out (okay I told them) that it has always been one of my childhood dreams to take part in one of the most ridiculous forms of dinner theater out there. We gathered together a group of 12 people, got a crazy discount and had a great evening. Normally I save More >
Down Down Down – Red Knight’s Goin Down
Oct 20th
I don’t have a bucket list. I’m too young. Instead I have a running list of shit that I wish I could have done when I was young. It includes things like pretending to be Godzilla and terrorizing Legoland, having an Oreo eating contest with an old person and spending the night in an FAO Shwartz – well as of Thursday evening I’ll be able to cross one off. I’m going to Midievil Times to eat a leg of chicken, drink some ale and cheer forĀ whichever knight looks the most like a pornstar.
It’s not like I’ve been dying to go ever since I More >
Honest Ed’s Bargain Emporium
Oct 6th
Hey Kids,
So as some of you are aware, I’ve picked up my life from Vancouver and moved out east to Toronto for the long haul. The transition was a bit dodgy at first, but now that I’m getting the hang of things, I’m really starting to like this city. Still hate the Leafs, the Raptors, the Blue Jays and the Argos, but really who doesn’t these days? Anyways, after a long few weeks of feeling my way around this city and trying to get comfortable, I’ve found a kind of sanctuary. While exploring the Annex yesterday I ventured quite far west on More >
Recapping The First Week in Toronto
Sep 20th
Brace yourselves kids, this is going to be interesting.
So after the difficult goodbyes with everyone last Saturday I arrived in Toronto quite late in the afternoon only to be greeted with the news of Air Canada forgetting over 70 bags in Vancouver. After a plethora of complaints from angry over-aged men with their trophy wives, the representative seemed to get fed up and went on the loud speaker. He told everyone that our bags would be arriving on the very next flight from Vancouver, but that flight wouldn’t land for another 3 hours. Brilliant. So, without anything other than my lap top More >
Can’t wait for TV this evening….
Sep 18th
Normally I don’t wait to watch shows, but I’ve been running around so much in Toronto this las week that I actually (probably for the first time in my life) couldn’t make time for TV. Shocking I know…
Good thing I have Fringe and Bones ready to go for an evening of quick witted sci-fi mysteries and uncomfortable sexual tension between FBI employees. It’s the stuff good TV is made of right? Anyways, the GF wrote me an email about last night’s episode of Fringe and all she could say was,
OMG OMG OMG! and that is all I will say for now about More >
