NBA All Star Weekend was, once again, filled with more show than go. Sure Blake jumped over a car and Bronbron dropped a triple double in the big game, but those are probably second and third on the list once you take a look at what Robert Rodriguez and Nike put together for the release of Kobe’s new kick.
In a great stylized little short starring Kobe, Danny Trejo, Bruce Willis and Kanye, Robert Rodriguez takes shoe commercials where they’ve never gone before… The cheap B-movie. Done in a typical Rodriguez style complete with voice over and character intros, Black Mamba is really well done.

Rivals in real life and puppet form
The Muppets, Sesame Street, various movie characters like Yoda and practically everyone in Dark Crystal, Jim Henson and his brilliant puppets have been in and out of our lives since… Well, before I can remember. But I never really saw this coming. I’m a bit of a basketball junkie, but mostly just the college game; until this year. The NBA Playoffs have been amazing (yeah I just did that) so far.
