Meet Sophie Wu, You’ll Hear From Her
May 28th
Wow, haven’t done one of these in a very long time, but here we go.
This installment of Almost Famous focuses on a really new face to movies and television, Sophie Wu. Who?
Sophie Wu is mostly recognized for her small, yet memorable part in the movie Kick-Ass. Although she has barely any lines, she plays the friend of Katie Deauxma, Erika Cho. In her most memorable scene, she is actually making out with Clark Duke‘s character, but other than that you probably have no idea who she is. Well, Sophie Wu is a British actress who trained at the London Academy of More >
Kicked Ass And Took Names
Apr 19th
So I went to watch Kick-Ass this weekend and I’m going to do a very quick review for you so you don’t get caught checking out my blog during working hours:
Kick-Ass kicks ass. Period. Chloe Moretz will win every single MTV Movie Award she is eligible for and Aaron Johnson can do a better North American accent than most British imports. Nick Cage‘s best movie EVER! (although that’s not saying much) and McLovin will always be McLovin. See Kick-Ass, it’s the best entertainment in a movie theater right now.
Alright, onto some news of the day. Game 3 of the Canucks versus Kings is tonight and More >
Kick-Ass Redband
Feb 19th
Normally I think Redband trailers are kind of a waste of time. Usually they are created just so people can see naked bodies and listen to people say “fuck.” But after seeing this Redband trailer for Kick-Ass, I can actually see a flick benefiting from producing two trailers. The Redband trailer actually adds an element to what people can expect from the movie. This R-rated flick will swear at you, show you things you shouldn’t see, gross you out and probably get banned in some areas. So, enough of the talk, enter your age and check it out below.
Kick-Ass Hit Girl Trailer
Dec 28th
Okay, originally I was skeptical about Kick-Ass, then I was mildly interested, then I was pretty excited, and now, with the release of the latest Hit Girl centric trailer, I’m full on “Kid Who Can’t Wait to Go To Disneyland.” Check out the latest from Kick-Ass and see all of the action in sequence. Although Nick Cage is featured in this clip, I’m going to assume this is a computer generated image of a douche instead. For a little bit of background info, Hit Girl is one of the essential characters in Kick-Ass. She’s basically a little kid that has been More >
Kick-Ass Trailer!!!
Nov 11th
Finally!!!
A movie to look forward to!!!
Nothing against flicks like Avatar, but Kick-Ass looks like it will steal the entire 2010 movie season. Waiting until April of next year will be painful, but if Matt Vaughn keeps dropping little gems like the Kick-Ass poster and this brand new trailer, I’m pretty sure the hype will continue. Early (very early and possibly ilegal and/or untrue) reviews for Kick-Ass have been great so far. The story follows a kid who wants to be a super hero but really doesn’t have any powers. In fact, I don’t think anyone in the story actually has “powers.” Check More >
Kick-Ass Drops A Few Posters
Nov 6th
Morning Kids,
Just thought I’d drop in and let everyone know that IGN has posted some pretty kick’n movie posters for the upcoming Kick-Ass. If you’re unaware of the flick, I wrote some words about the comic character on Killahbeez here and here. Go have a look when you can – it’s interesting if you’re a comic buff. What I really like about this poster is the way they can connect. Yeah I know, it’s quite primitive in this here digital age, but the simplicity reminds me of collecting toys from cereal boxes for some reason. Anyways, have a look below cause I More >
