“No Kimosabe,” Says Disney
Aug 15th
Morning all,
Hope everyone had a nice weekend. On a completely unrelated note to this particular post, I’m wondering if anyone actually dished out the $70 door price to go see Kevin Smith premier Red State at the Toronto Underground Theatre or even in Vancouver. I would totally go for about half that price, but I’m not as die-hard a Kevin Smith fan as some I guess.
Okay, back to the question at hand… What happened with The Lone Ranger flick? I mean, before this weekend there was nothing but positive news concerning the casting of who the actual Lone Ranger was going to be (Armie Hammer). They More >
90 Seconds of Tronned Out Daft Punk
Oct 13th
Morning all,
I love short weeks. I love waking up all miserable thinking it’s a Tuesday only to find out half to work that it’s actually Wednesday. God Bless Everyone!
Onto the juice for this morning. So I’ve been following/’Liking’/what-ever-the-fuq-you-wanna-call-it the Tron Legacy page on Facebook for the a few weeks now thinking I’d get some new photos and possibly a look at some more concept art or a new trailer. Sadly, up until this morning I had more luck scouring the blogosphere than following on FB. But this morning has a pretty sweet addition.
As part of Tron Tuesdays (I didn’t check out the More >
Tron Neons It’s Way Into The Spotlight
Jul 23rd
2 Posts in 1 Day?!!!
Wow ya’ll are lucky. Okay, seriously though, there’s been so much going on in San Diego in the last 24 hours that for those of us (myself included) who are not at the convention, it’s tough to keep up.
I’m sure everyone (or most… hopefully) has at least heard of the Disney feature Tron Legacy that will be premiering December 17th. Well, yesterday marked a huge day for the Tron team as Disney held their own Comic Con panel hosted by none other than Patton Oswalt. It’s actually a pretty kick’n start to have a good host. I’ve read a More >
Tangled Trailer
Jun 11th
You have to admit, the last few Disney animated features have been less than on par with their classics. Princess and the Frog was alright, but it lacked… Something. That something that makes us remember the songs, the character names, the lines and why we love Disney animation. With their latest feature Tangled, let’s hope they find the mojo again. Below is the latest trailer, but read on to find out a little bit more about the flick:
As you can see, Tangled doesn’t look exactly like your average Disney animated flick. In fact, it doesn’t really look exactly like anything, even Pixar or More >
If You Have 20 Minutes Of Free Time…
Feb 24th
In celebration of Disneyland re-releasing Captain EO, I’ve decided to completely waste your time and destroy all of your daily productivity by posting the entire short (borrowed from Youtube). In case you have no idea what I’m talking about, Disneyland California brought back and re-premiered the sci-fi short this week.
Captain EO was created in 1986 as an attraction for people to come to the theme park. Starring Michael Jackson, Anjelica Huston and a bunch of puppets, the short also has big names like Francis Coppola and George Lucas attached. Captain EO is a 3D sci-fi space ship type short film that ran for about More >
Disney: The Underdog?
Feb 22nd
I never thought I’d ever think of Disney as the underdog, or the little guy, or the small animation studio that would surprise people with quality and story telling. From my youth, that WAS Disney Animation. Thinking back, I don’t think I can even remember a good animated sequence from my youth that didn’t have something to do with Disney. But who knew that behind he scenes of all of the magic was a really bumpy road?
I don’t know a whole lot about the documentary Waking Sleeping Beauty, but after watching this trailer, I think this is going to be one More >
The Cheapest Muppet Movie Ever Made
Sep 22nd
I’ve been reading up on the latest from Jason Segel‘s Muppet project and I’m happy to hear that the film has been officially announced by Disney. I’m certain this flick won’t blow anyone’s mind but from what I’ve read so far, it sounds like Segel’s Cheapest Muppet Movie Ever Made could at least be in the tone of the Muppets we love.
In case you need a refresher, The Cheapest Muppet Movie Ever Made actually derived from Jim Henson himself and his head writer from the original Muppets Show Jerry Juhl. The concept goes as follows: Gonzo, forever wanting to prove his own More >
