Ah yes. In true Conan O’Brien fashion, the red-headed giant of late night is asking the fans who his first guest should be on his brand new show. Can you imagine how great other talk shows would be if we didn’t have to sit through boring interview after boring interview with sleep inducing ‘celebrities’ talking about how difficult it is to live with money and fame while they sit across the desk of an untalented comedian with a giant chin…? (yikes, that rant started without even trying…)

Anyways, yes, Conan is asking for your opinion but only in a truly Conan way. The selection ranges from people like The Pope, Jack Nicholson, Thomas Pynchon and Gerhard Irtl, to Bieber, Gaga or the entire cast of the live action Fat Albert movie. Personally, I’d like to see Conan talk with Tom from Myspace. There’s something about Conan bringing up the fact that nobody really uses Myspace anymore and I have a feeling we’d get to see this guy in a skit or two about social networking.

Just a thought. Conan’s new show debuts in a just over a couple of weeks on TBS.

Morning all,

Last night sparked the return of regular network television. Woo Hoo.

Although I’m saving all of the season and series premiers for the weekend, I do want to say that I’m super (like uber-super) excited for Conan. That’s right, it’s not ‘Late Night With Conan’ or ‘The Late Show’, TBS and the red headed giant have agreed to simply call the show Conan. Nice.

So I’m sure there are like a billion blogs and articles out there about tonight’s game so I appreciate the love and thanks for going through this. I’m so appreciative in fact, that I’ll be as brief as possible. As the title eludes, tonight is the first game of hopefully many for a long run through the playoffs for the Vancouver Canucks. My jersey still smells like stale beer and mustard (moutarde for all you French folk) and living out in the east buys me the entire day to prep. Basically I don’t have to time anything perfectly to make it to the couch tonight.

So, thoughts on the regular season as we move into the real season:

1 - Kes Is The Key

I tend to shy away from the flash and dash in the playoffs and really enjoy watching players create the games within the games. With a player like Kesler, you know someone will be out for blood by the end of the first period. Forget all these human interest pieces you’ve been reading about with Kes, dude is bad ass and lets people know about it.

2 - Leave Lou Alone

At least he’s not Dan Cloutier.

3 - Anger Management

Someone really needs to make sure that Mikael Sameulsson is still pissed about not making the Swedish Olympic team. When he’s pissed, he plays well. Here’s an idea – Hank and Danny should wear their Sweden jerseys every single day before the games just to get Sameulsson’s blood boiling. That way he can take out his frustrations on the likes of Johnny Quick.

4 - Burying The Hatchet

Dear Kyle Wellwood, I will subside my disgust for your playing style for the rest of my life if you can prove to be more than “nifty,” (Ray Ferarro’s words). Although I am not at the point of putting your name on my jersey, I am willing to keep an open mind this playoff season in hopes of you finding your game.

Game time is at 7PM PST, 10PM EST. I heard Kevin Weekes doing color for the Avs game last night which means we don’t have to listen to him repeat everything he reads out of the game program and say ridiculous things like, “go for the juggler,” not jugular… Bring it on Kings!

Pee Wee has been making quite a few appearances of late since his live show premiered back on stage a few days ago. As you may recall, he helped explain all of the issues going on at NBC for Conan and just a few days ago decided to showcase his new iPad to all of the people in Puppetland. Check out the video below. By the by, that tingling feeling you get in the back of your neck is nostalgia – Pee Wee is BACK!!!!

This will be short and to the point because I’m so angry this is happening. Conan did the only thing he could. Why should he always be considered the little brother of Jay Leno in the late night talk show family? Leno is only ideal for two audiences:

1 – The lame-wad who still thinks gimmicks like Jay-Walking and Headlines are funny. The same people who criticize Letterman just because they don’t get it.

2 – Old people

Unless NBC wants a strangle hold on this fading demographic, they should pull their heads out of their asses.

Hey NBC – you ever wonder why the only good show on your network is a sitcom created with the sole purpose of mocking you and your business decisions?

But let me make this clear – I don’t hate Jay Leno. I just find him deathly boring. This is the work of NBC and I criticize Leno only because I don’t see what NBC sees.
