The Naughty Car is A Volvo?
Oct 27th
When did Volvo get an attitude?
Growing up, Volvo was always like the “Dad says we have to buy it,” style car in that they preached safety over anything else. I thought it was working really well considering there were like 20 families in the suburban prison where I grew up that owned one. They were safe, quite big and could hold a ton of people.
I’ll be the first to admit, I know nothing about cars… Like NOTHING. I don’t even drive! But when I saw this spot for the Naughty Volvo it made me realize how out-of-it I actually am when it comes to More >
So Many Mini’s
Sep 15th
Check out this spot for Mini when you get a chance. Now, I’m not the hugest fan of the bite-sized motor vehicle, but this ad is actually quite fun. The music is spot on, the driving looks amazing and even the short acting moments by the patrons inside seem better than most car commercials. Let me get this straight though, I’m not about to go buy a car because I don’t think (although I’m not entirely sure) that Mini’s can split up and come back together… In any case, enjoy this little gem of the week.
Carlton Beer Walks The Line Of Inappropriateness
Mar 18th
Although this ad is catchy (mostly due to the trio’s song) I can’t help but feel as though Calrton Draught Beer is really stretching with this one. Okay, I get that sometimes you just crave the need to have a beer with some mates, but that need never stems from… down there. I also don’t really understand the whole reference to having the balls to have a beer. To me, it would take more balls to tell your mates you don’t want to go out and have a beer in fear of being made fun of for the entire night.

Ally Bank’s Ads – Cruel to children, yet awesome
Mar 11th
Okay, that might have been a misleading title to this post, but if you think about the kids in the ads for Ally Bank, it is quite cruel. Anyways, these have been running for a little while now, but I thought it would be worth posting them in one place. I wonder if they were all done in one take.
Fun pieces – makes me want a pony.
Nothing to do with the iPad
Jan 28th
Welcome to one of the only posts you’ll read today that has absolutely nothing to do with the Apple iPad. This is the last time I’ll mention the giant iPod this post, I promise.
Instead, I’d like to chat abut a much more serious issue going on right now in the advertising world. Yes, your assumption is correct, I’m concerned for Salty the salt shaker. In a couple of new spots featured below we learn how Salty is trying to re familiarize himself with the world. I understand that with these brand new less-sodium Sidekicks rice packages I’ll probably live longer, but I’m More >
Finagle Your Bagel
Dec 15th
Shock value is one thing, but I think it’s a while other spoonful of goodness when you combine shock and great script writing for one super value meal. Wow, that’s a lot of pointless food metaphors. Anyways, check out this new commercial from Finagle Knows Bagel. It’s not shocking like “wow I can’t believe they would show that on TV,” or anything, but it’s pretty (beep)ing funny.
Pro Sports Stars Becoming Human
Mar 18th
Gotta admit, when I was a kid the thought of meeting a pro sports star would have been like meeting God. I probably wouldn’t know what to say and would envision a constant beam of light upon them. I held them in such high regards that in some strange way I never really saw them as human – sans emotion, humility and a sense of humour. The rise of Youtube has helped many things in this world, and I think the most important has been my new outlook on professional athletes becoming grounded human beings. They make mistakes of course, More >
