What Ever Happened To Fall TV Shows Being Good?
May 27th
Alright, maybe this is a result of me getting old….(which is a completely different complaint)
But do you remember when networks would release their Fall lineups after finale season and you were generally excited to see all of the new shows? Well this year’s look terrible (and that’s me being nice). ABC, NBC, CW and CBS seemed to have flushed all of their good ideas straight into the can and come up with an armful of garbage content that we can only hope will grow on us. Seriously, this gripe is justified if you watch some of the promo clips below:

Reviewing Flash Forward

First up, I agree with ABC when they allude to the fact that once LOST is over, their stronghold on the niche market of sci-fi and dramatic mystery fans will be all but gone. I agree with the fact that something on the network should be able to absorb some fans into a new show, but right now, I really don’t think that show is Flash Forward. With an amazing cast up front, I really had high hopes for this, but after watching the pilot last week and letting it all settle in, I’ve got more gripes than praise for the Lost More >
Fillion’s Castle

I’ve gone and done it again – I picked up yet another show I’m going to have to follow come next TV season. The other night the gf and I plopped ourselves in front of the TV for 10 hours and watched the entire first season of Castle starring Nathon Fillion (Captain Hammer, Mal). The drama/comedy follows a crime writer as he researches for his latest book by shadowing a NYC detective. The concept seems simple and probably over-used, but the heart of the show isn’t really the crimes – its the relationship between Castle (the writer) and Beckett (the cop).
