Here’s The Avengers Trailer
Oct 13th
If you’ve been living in a cave for the past few days, or if you’ve just been enthralled by the iOS5 update yesterday, then you might have been the only person in the world to to have missed the premier of the very first official trailer for Joss Whedon‘s The Avengers. All smugginess aside, it’s working so far for me. It does have a lot of Transformers-esque sounds to it, but the trailer so far, is enough to hold everyone over for at least a couple of more months. To be honest, I didn’t really care how terrible the trailer turned out (although it More >
Breaking Bad Finale Goes Two-Face
Oct 11th
So who watched the season 4 finale of Breaking Bad this weekend? Spectacular. It was one of those episodes that was way too intense to turn away from. If you’d been following this season, then this has got to be one of the better episodes of all time; and if you’re thinking of picking up the show to add to your rotation, I would say you can definitely look forward to this one.
So what was so great? Let’s start with the little things first. My absolute favourite part had to be Jesse’s interrogation scene where the cops start asking him about Ricin. More >

Any more details? not a chance.
Excited? Yup!

Oldboy – New Everything
Sep 30th
Morning all,
So there’s been a lot of news surrounding the progression of the North American remake of the Korean flick Oldboy. If you’ve never seen it, it’s definitely worth a watch in terms of a different kind of storytelling we might not be used to on this side of the pond. Basically some dude gets locked up for a while, then after a lot of time he gets out and has a short time period to find out who framed him. Okay, so that was a really poor interpretation of what actually happens in the flick, but I don’t want people to More >
I Liked 50/50. Did You Like 50/50?
Sep 28th
Morning all,
So this mini-review is coming a bit late. I actually had an opportunity to see the advanced screening of 50/50 last week and I’ve been really lazy… Like sloth-lazy. Anyways, I’m back now and I’ve been able to sit down and gather my not-so-intellectual thoughts and here’s what I’ve got:
50/50 makes me homesick…
Seriously, if you’re from Vancouver and you no longer live in that wonderful city, then watching this movie will do two things to you. First, it’s pretty damn good. Joseph Gordon-Levitt is great and Seth Rogen is in his natural supporting role where he excels and steals scenes. Anna Kendrick is wonderful and Anjelica More >
Did You Like Drive? I Liked Drive.
Sep 22nd
Morning all,
So I finally went out to the theatre to watch Drive the other night. You know, the one where Ryan Gosling drives around and beats people with a hammer? (Spoiler – he actually only beats one dude with a hammer) It was great, but you have to understand a couple of things once the movie starts. First up, when other reviewers are saying things like, “stylized,” the style they are actually referring to is B-Movie. Drive is a grindhouse flick, but that shouldn’t deter you. Think way back when you were able to go to the video store and rent an More >
True Blood Mythology Infographic
Sep 20th
Morning all,
So I was poking around Screenrant this morning (great resource by the way) and they’ve posted this little doozy to help True Blood fans (and non-fans) understand all of the different creatures in the series. With the fourth season coming to an end a couple of weeks ago on HBO, we’re left with so much more than just vampires. So far we’ve seen Vamps, Werewolves, Shapeshifters, Witches, Fairies….. The list goes on. Thankfully we’ve now got this to help us out.
