Mrs. Comrie In New Spidey?
Morning Kids,
I accidentally hit the rumour mill this morning and stumbled upon some interesting news over at Latino Review. Turns out some journalist doing a spot on Mike Comrie (who recently wed Lizzy McGuire star Hillary Duff) got a little bit nosy and while snooping around the Comrie’s Beverly Hills kitchen saw a script titled “Spiderman.”
Interesting to say the least, but as you can probably guess, this is nothing more than speculation. I was over a friend’s house the other day and saw a script called “Greatest Flick of All Time,” but that doesn’t mean anything. Although it could make some sense given that Andrew Garfield has already been cast to play Petey Parker in the refreshed web-slinging franchise being put together by Marc Webb. Garfield will be seen very soon in The Social Network and Duff, well, you can probably catch her at a few Penguins games this year.
In any case, Spidey-Refresh is still a bit of a toss-up in the eyes of the fan-kids. Sure, Sam Raimi completely sold out a few years ago with Spidey 3, but is it really time to drink that Kool-Aid again? I guess we’ll have to wait and see as more news/rumours come piling in. Word of advice for journalists interviewing hockey players married to much wealthier women though, “Don’t start what you can’t finish.”
Check out this cool audition video for the role of Peter Parker starring Josh Hutcherson. He didn’t get the part, but not for lack of trying. Hopefully Garfield can mimic Hutcherson’s performance and successfully pull off a refresh of our friendly neighborhood…
