Port Almost Done!
Aug 3rd
My adventures into WordPress and CSS are finally coming to fuition as my refreshed new portfolio is “almost,” complete. I only say “almost,” because this is one of those things that’ll never actually be finished. I’m at a stage where I’m simply inputting content; which for me, is really the home stretch. I’ve gone through multiple revisions and come up with something that I can live with. When working on personal projects such as this, you really do have to bite it and say, “screw it, it works.” Usually I’m an extreme perfectionist, but this is more of a situation More >

Spent yesterday in an online CSS lesson and I’ve been reaping the benefits ever since. Sure I ended up staying up until 3AM last night practicing, but it’s like the first time you actually figure out how to swim on a hot day – you never wanna leave the pool. So why did I take a lesson in CSS? Honestly, it can never hurt. I’m basically a peasant when it comes to code – I understand the core principles of the language, but I would never in a million years consider myself a developer. At least now I have a new More >
One Down, Three To Go
Jul 23rd
Today is going to be a busy one. Like I’ve mentioned so many times before, I think I would benefit a lot from a project manager. For reasons quite obvious (time and client management) I always seem to find myself having a ridiculous amount of projects due on the same day. Well, that day is today. Luckily I stayed up late last night and polished off one job leaving me three to work on for today. The aforementioned job? I just finished up some content for a cell phone distribution company. For NDA reasons I won’t mention the name of More >
New Port Coming Along
Jul 22nd
As I said last week, I’m finally giving my portfolio a bit of a refresh. After looking through some of the stuff that’s out there and figuring out how I want to position myself as a brand, I’ve decided to take the entire thing in a whole new direction. The first thing I did was decide that I was going to build the whole thing in WordPress. I blog a lot for a lot of different clients, so the interface is as easy as pecan pie. The problem was finding an appropriate template to frack with. Good thing I had More >
Working On A New Portfolio
Jul 17th
I have to be honest, my portfolio is sooooo 2008. I really appreciate the work the Normal Design Group did with it last year, but I think it’s high time for a little upgrade. Nothing too major, but I want to upgrade the freshness of it all and seeing as I’ve done a ton of work since the last time I updated, I’ve decided to rethink the whole idea. Couple that with the fact that the group over at One Night Site have agreed to help me make the transition to WordPress and I’ve decided to go ahead and start from scratch.

Competetive Anaylisis – A Struggle To Be Neutral
Jun 30th
We’re all taught in school that whenever we’re doing research, we have to try and step into the mindset of a true user. Depending on the product that could mean anything, but in order to get a true experience, things often need to be seen through the eyes of someone most likely to use the product or service. This is where researching the competition becomes difficult for me. On one hand, I’ve got some major loyalty issues – in a good way! Whenever I’m going through a competitor’s product, the first thing that pops into my head is how lame More >
I seriously need a new laptop….
Jun 26th
Ugh – so I spent pretty much all of last night working on a file that I planned on bringing into the office today in hopes of being able to work on it some more. But, I’ve just discovered that my old laptop will not be able to run the program I’ve been using. I’ve done the old “Hey Google, what do you have to say?” but I’ve just discovered that the reason the file will not open is because my OS is uber-old – like geriatric old (thanks Kristy). I think its finally time to retire the old girl More >
Recreation of the Procrastination Station
May 31st
I work from home (primarily in my pajamas with a cup of a coffee), which definitely has its perks. I can get up and leave any time I want. If I really just don’t feel like doing anything, I just won’t do anything and I never have anyone around me to constantly remind me that I’m on a deadline, or that something is due within the next few hours. When I first started out this was great. I made my own schedules, left enough video game time and work life was peachy. But after doing this for a while now More >
