Worthington is The Vet, Hill is The Noob
Nov 7th
Why not kick this week off with a look at the latest video game commercial for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare? I’m sure there’s like a tonne of sequel numbers I’m missing, but blah who cares, these games are pretty much all the same right? Anyways, COD has put out some pretty good commercials for the release of their games. If you remember back to last year there was the “Everyone’s a Soldier,” concept which was pretty good, but the next time around they’ve really outdone themselves.
By snagging action star Sam Worthington and comedy star Jonah Hill, they’ve effectively captured what video More >
Anyone else disappointed with the 21 Jump Street Trailer?
Nov 4th
Morning all,
I’m going to try my very hardest not to go on a rant, but I’m not making any promises.
Let’s start where this should, the original. Who out there remembers the original 21 Jump Street TV show? I recently picked up the entire series for like $20 so if you haven’t seen it, it’s worth the price. But I’ll be clear, the TV show was nothing to cheer about. The story lines were progressive for their time and they had an up-and-coming cast of Johnny Depp and Holly Robinson, but in the end it’s pretty much the Degrassi with less Canada. With that being More >
Chronicle Trailer
Oct 31st
Morning all,
I don’t care what anyone says, the trailer for Chronicle looks dope. Maybe it’s my natural liking for the hand-held docu-drama style, or the fact that it’s seemingly coming out of nowhere (without a lot of hype), but I think this is going to be a good one. At least for me that is. Have a look at the trailer below and you’ll now what I mean.
Pretty awesome huh? Okay, there are three big reasons why I want to watch this and I’ll go down them in order of importance to me. Number 1 is the fact that this is More >
The Final Muppet Movie Parody Ad
Oct 28th
This was a nice refreshing touch throughout the summer and into the fall. The Muppets still doesn’t hit theatres for a a few more weeks, but the Tropic Thunder-esque parody ads they’ve been running are over (as stated by their last parody ad). In any case, I thought they did a really nice job of taking the topical movies like Green Lantern, Twilight, Dragon Tattoo and Paranormal Activity and roped themselves right into the mix. This works for me because it’s really saying there is no genre to place this film in – at least until someone sees it.
In any case, check out More >
Much Ado In The Whedonverse
Oct 25th
Morning all,
Anyone get taken a bit off guard on Sunday when Nathan Fillion started dropping random links to this site via Twitter? Well, get in line. The super secret film project is finally out in the open and Joss Whedon fans are about to get a taste of his interpretation of Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing. That’s right, amidst filming and promoting one of the biggest movies to come across movie theatre screen since Avatar, writer, director and producer Joss Whedon managed to make a film in complete secret. Maybe Avengers is all about deflecting media up until this big release? Doubtful, I know.
It’s Batman Week
Oct 19th
Okay, so it’s probably not the official Batman week, but in my world it is. See, this week saw the release of one of the most anticipated video game titles in a long time – Batman: Arkham City. The game looks and sounds spectacular. But it’s not all about the video games here. This week also saw the DVD and Blu-Ray release of the latest DC animated feature – Batman: Year One. I’ve written about my excitement about this release before, but I didn’t actually put two and two together with the release date of the video game.
Man, this week is More >
