Round 2 Here We Come!!!! Bring On The Hawks!!!
Apr 26th
Morning kids, and what a wonderful morning it is if you’re a Canucks fan
Last night we took care of the Kings after a grueling six games and now our guys get a couple of days off before we take another crack at Round 2. Here are some thoughts on the first series:
Bernier…. Double-You-Tee-Eff?
Hank and Danny, if anyone in Vancouver deserves to make that much cash playing hockey it’s you.
Bobby-Lou, thanks for the glove. I owe you a beer. Signed: Andrew Alberts
Drew Doughty, I’m once again a fan. See you next year.

It’s Friday… I don’t wanna do anything
Apr 23rd
A sign of things to come
It’s Friday, it’s game day, it’s gorgeous outside and me? I don’t want to do a thing.
I really want to ditch work and go find a patio, but my conscience keeps popping up every time I almost fake a headache…. Instead, here is what I going to hope for tonight’s game:
Edler remembers what he ate before game 1 and become Lil’ Ohllie again
SOB (Shane O’Brien) channels his inner Irish and unleashes the madness on Anze
Bieksa remember that he’s actually not that good of a hockey payer and instead focuses on running people over
Grabner and Burrows finally score. It’s been WAY too More >
Gots Me A New Layout – And Congrats Canucks!
Apr 22nd
Morning Kids!
As you can probably tell, I gots me a new layout for the Bloated Penguin. I just switched things over to the new Mystique template last night so I’ll be spending this weekend doing a complete overhaul of the look. I went with Mystique because it is very compatible with the latest updates from WordPress and it is actually endorsed by them. I’m taking this as a sign that this is a safe template to use with all of the updates, something the old layout suffered from when I decided to go rogue and play around with the CSS. I’m not More >
Kicked Ass And Took Names
Apr 19th
So I went to watch Kick-Ass this weekend and I’m going to do a very quick review for you so you don’t get caught checking out my blog during working hours:
Kick-Ass kicks ass. Period. Chloe Moretz will win every single MTV Movie Award she is eligible for and Aaron Johnson can do a better North American accent than most British imports. Nick Cage‘s best movie EVER! (although that’s not saying much) and McLovin will always be McLovin. See Kick-Ass, it’s the best entertainment in a movie theater right now.
Alright, onto some news of the day. Game 3 of the Canucks versus Kings is tonight and More >
A Gift For Samuelsson – And Vimeo Love
Apr 16th
Just a quickie this morning,
Congrats to Michael Sameulsson on winning the big game on OT last night. Slept through my alarm this morning because of it, but nobody will complain. Would like to see Kesler get more involved next game, but I have a feeling he’s just warming up. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if Kesler and his his Team USA buddy Jack Johnson weren’t buddies anymore after the series.
Sameulsson, this is for you!
Now onto the subject at hand. I’ve recently signed up for Vimeo Daily and they’ve been sending me Staff Pick videos and a bunch of other randoms. Although most of More >
Mission Critical: De-Throning The Kings
Apr 15th
So I’m sure there are like a billion blogs and articles out there about tonight’s game so I appreciate the love and thanks for going through this. I’m so appreciative in fact, that I’ll be as brief as possible. As the title eludes, tonight is the first game of hopefully many for a long run through the playoffs for the Vancouver Canucks. My jersey still smells like stale beer and mustard (moutarde for all you French folk) and living out in the east buys me the entire day to prep. Basically I don’t have to time anything perfectly to make More >
Domino’s Pizza Holdouts No More
Apr 7th
Morning kids,
Sorry for going AWOL for a little while after the long weekend. It was one of those times where you turn off the computer and really don’t feel like turning it back on till you absolutely have to. In any case, I’m back to the grind and back in front of the ol’ WordPress UI providing content to waste your day with. Today’s topic is the Domino’s Pizza Holdouts. If you haven’t heard, seen or even know what I’m talking about here’s a tiny (really short I promise) breakdown:
Domino’s changed their sauce and some other stuff

My Bracket Looks Like A Broken Circuit Board
Mar 22nd
Hey-Zeus… Every freaking year this happens. March Madness will be the death of me as I’ll spend all season studying, analyzing and researching every team all the way down to their grade point averages only to be ousted by my sister who chooses teams based on mascots and jersey colors… I’m sure I’m not the only one, but this is getting a bit ridiculous. Kansas? Seriously? Come on Jayhawks! You’ve killed me. And Georgetown? The Hoyas used to be feared and to be walked all over by a team that could barey be considered a mid-major or a bubble team is just More >
