Les Grossman Yells At Edward Cullen
May 31st
The MTV Movie Awards are like a fine wine (if I drank wine that would be a viable statement). They really get better with age. Last year the awards took a dip, although the “Cool Guys Don’t Look At Explosions” bit with Will Ferrell and JJ Abrams was pretty fun, but this year it looks like MTV has found their footing again. With Aziz Ansari hosting and the promos they are running like the following, you can bet people are going to be tuning in.
Check out Tom Cruise as he resurrects crazy Tropic Thunder producer Les Grossman in an attempt to get Robert Pattinson to not wash his hair. More >
Dennis Hopper, You Will Be Missed
May 29th
I know everyone out there has their own personal Dennis Hopper story, but this is from someone who really only started to notice his brilliance to character late in his career. Case and point, I think the first Dennis Hopper film I ever saw was actually Speed. Memorable for a lot of reasons, but Keanu and Sandy Bullock aside, Dennis Hopper made that film amazing. If there was no Dennis Hopper, there would be no bus, there would be no 9-fingered evil and there would be no “Pop Quiz Asshole!”
Once I saw Speed, I was hooked, I got caught up on a lot More >
Meet Sophie Wu, You’ll Hear From Her
May 28th
Wow, haven’t done one of these in a very long time, but here we go.
This installment of Almost Famous focuses on a really new face to movies and television, Sophie Wu. Who?
Sophie Wu is mostly recognized for her small, yet memorable part in the movie Kick-Ass. Although she has barely any lines, she plays the friend of Katie Deauxma, Erika Cho. In her most memorable scene, she is actually making out with Clark Duke‘s character, but other than that you probably have no idea who she is. Well, Sophie Wu is a British actress who trained at the London Academy of More >
What Ever Happened To Fall TV Shows Being Good?
May 27th
Alright, maybe this is a result of me getting old….(which is a completely different complaint)
But do you remember when networks would release their Fall lineups after finale season and you were generally excited to see all of the new shows? Well this year’s look terrible (and that’s me being nice). ABC, NBC, CW and CBS seemed to have flushed all of their good ideas straight into the can and come up with an armful of garbage content that we can only hope will grow on us. Seriously, this gripe is justified if you watch some of the promo clips below:

Is This The New Transformers Girl?
May 26th
Okay okay, so the grumblings around the blogosphere in the last little while have been dominated by people piping in about who should play the next Transformers girl. It’s like 47 steps below the Bond Girl, but nonetheless, still news worthy… I guess. Well, sorry to beak it to some, but it looks like Michael Bay has narrowed it down to three, with one definitely in the lead. The girl in the lead is none other than…

Who?, well, here’s a pic. I’m not impressed but it’s not up to me to decide who every 8th grader will be posting locker pictures of More >
More Inception Excitement
May 25th
Okay, I know I’ve mentioned this before, but damn Inception looks good. I’m not just saying this because it’s a Chris Nolan flick and I’m a die-hard Dark Knight fan, this flick actually looks quite original – so far. I’m sure the critics and the big-headed know-it-alls who sit in their mom’s basement dissecting story lines and continuity will have something to say, but before they can pipe in with their un-solicited feedback on a subject they know nothing about, let’s sit and enjoy some of the great material coming out of this flick so far.

Mr Lindelof, Mr Cuse – I’ll Take It
May 24th
As a 6 year veteran of Lost, last night was a tear-jerker. In terms of finale’s, last night’s 2 and a half hour marathon (not including the “Final Journey” thing before it) was good. It was a wrap and it accomplished what a finale should. We said goodbye to all of the characters, weren’t left with more mysteries to decipher and got that sense of completion. For those reasons, Lost fans can accept what creators Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse did with the one of the greatest television shows ever produced. But not everything is all lollipops and rainbows – with More >
Getting Lost This Weekend?
May 21st
Morning all,
As the blogosphere gets a tidal wave of info, rumours and theories about this weekend’s final episode of Lost, I’ve decided not to jump into the deep end. Instead, I just want to say that I’ll be watching and I will probably refrain from expressing my opinion for a while. Yes, I’ll definitely be glued to my TV on Sunday (although that sounds an awful lot like Monday, Wednesday, Saturdays and Fridays – oh yeah and most Tuesdays and Thursdays too….) but I’m going to try my hardest not to be too critical. In fact, I can feel my More >
