Let The Games Begin!
Feb 16th
Okay, so the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games (Woo Hoo SEO) officially started last week, but tonight marks the first ‘game.’ I’m speaking of course of the greatest and most talked about hockey event… EVER. With that French skier bouncing his way to Gold already breaking the curse, all eyes now turn to Canada’s Olympic Mens Hockey Team (or as I refer to them as, Stevie’s Kids).
I’ve been reading predictions, expectations, quotes and stats about Stevie’s Kids for like 4 years now, but as of this evening, the talking and predicting will end and the games will begin. I’ve written a few More >
Family Day? This Is New….
Feb 15th
Okay, so I’m used to “celebrating” holidays simply for the fact that I get the day off work, but this Ontario Family Day is kind of the cream of the crop. Coming from BC, I’m totally fine with taking things like BC Day off because, you know, I lived there and it’s gorgeous and there’s a reason to celebrate, but Family Day? Okay, I get it if I’m like this mature guy who actually has a family in this province, then I guess it’s worth taking the day, but for those of us (and I think there are a lot of More >
Okay… A Little Patriotic This Morn
Feb 13th
Okay Mr Shane Koyczan – you’ve got a new fan. Where was this buy when they filmed all those Molson Beer commercials?
you might shake a tree in the fall
and call a red leaf Canada
you might rattle off some celebrities
might mention Buffy Sainte-Marie
might even mention the fact that we’ve got a few
Barenaked Ladies
or that we made these crazy things
like zippers
electric cars
and washing machines
when defining Canada
it seems the world’s anthem has been
” been there done that”
and maybe that’s where we used to be at
it’s true
we’ve done and we’ve been
we’ve seen
all the great themes get swallowed up by the machine
and turned into theme parks

You Know A Series Is Filmed In Vancouver When…
Feb 11th
So the other day I decided to switch on the TV and a promo for this new show Human Target caught my attention. It doesn’t look terribly amazing at first glance, but I recognized the main character as the dude who played John Scott in the first season of Fringe. So, meh, I decided to check it out…
I’m actually kind of glad I did. The principle cast of three is a perfect number to start off with and the likes of Chi McBride and Jackie Earle Haley really play off of relative newcomer Mark Valley quite well. The concept of a rogue undercover security More >
Here’s The Cast For Green Lantern
Feb 9th
As many of you comic nerds (myself included so don’t take offense by that) are well aware of, Warner Bros. is putting together an origin story flick about The Green Lantern. The intergalactic cop that wears a green ring will be directed by Martin Campbell (The Edge of Darkness and Casino Royale) and brings with it a cast of substantial names. Say what you want, but it looks like these peeps are in.
Green Lantern / Hal Jordan played by Ryan Reynolds
I remember him best from 2 Guys A Girl and a Pizza Place, but most people will recognize him for his bit part More >
The Baywatch Movie Reviewed
Feb 8th
So there was like this 24 hour coverage of a football game yesterday and while I was waiting for the commercials to start (side note – I later found out that Mashable would be streaming all of them from their site…) I flipped around the channels and discovered one of the greatest movies of our time. No I’m not talking about Citizen Kane or Casablanca, I’m speaking of course about the Baywatch Movie.
I’ll try my hardest to not give away too much of the plot, but the quick rundown is this. Mitch gets married in Hawaii.
Now, I’ve never been a huge fan of Baywatch More >
Damn You Fringe!!!!!
Feb 5th
Trust me, you want to know what they just found.
I hate mid-season finales. They’ve done it with Smallville, They’re doing it with Glee, and last night saw the mid season finale of Fringe. And the kicker is that Jacksonville (the title of last night’s episode) was the best of season 2 so far. Agreed, the second season of Fringe has been a bit slow in terms of the overall arc of the stories set up in the first season, but in defense of the brilliant Rob Orci and Alex Kurtzman, this was needed to gain more fans. Last night’s episode was like More >
Yet Another WordPress Journey
Feb 4th
Next Monday will mark the kick-off of another project here at the exclusive computer nerd-labs of my work. Yes, alright – I could be exaggerating about the “exclusive computer nerd” stuff, but us introverts need to generate self importance some how right? Anyways, Monday we will be kicking off a brand new digital campaign that will be %100 WordPress generated.
I know what most of you are thinking, “Dude, WordPress is like so 2006!” well, to give you all some insight, WordPress is like a foreign language here and for us to even make the decision to use the system was a More >
