How I Met Your Mother’s 100th Episode Extravaganza
Anyone spend last evening indoors without a social life? I did! Instead of going out for a night on the town I decided to throw on the comfy pants and plop down on the couch for an evening of shows that have FINALLY returned from the Holiday Hiatus. The menu tonight consisted of Fringe (FOX aired the lost episode from season 1), Castle (Alyssa Milano is like the hottest 38 year old on the planet) and the 100th episode of How I Met Your Mother.
I’d been reading/seeing info about the 100th episode for a while now (half because I heard there was going to be a musical number and half because of Rachel Bilson), so I was pretty excited to see how this all worked out. The episode as a whole was on par with most How I Met Your Mother episodes with Ted being lame, Barney being awesome and the rest of the supporting cast adding to the comedy, but there were a couple of bigger highlights.
First up, it’s nice to see Rachel Bilson back on TV. As an avid closet OC fan back in the day, I’ve got some fond memories of Summer. I was extremely sad to hear that she is now suffering from a disease known to most as “Married-to-a-Douchebag,” but for a half hour last night I almost forgot.
The musical number was also pretty funny. It never really occurred to me that the entire cast (save Ted) had already done a musical number of their own of some sort. NPH pulled off Doctor Horrible, Jason Segal did his thing with the puppets in Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Alyson Hanigan did that memorable episode of Buffy and Cobie Smulders did her Canadian 80′s pop song about the mall. I’m guessing the veterans carried Josh Radnor. In any case, I don’t think the entire number is up for free consumption (I’d give it one more day), but here is some behind the scenes footage of how they made it.
Please excuse the annoying ads before the clips – this was taken from CBS‘s Youtube channel.
