Jason Reitman Goes Up In The Air
Sep 10th
I’ve watched this trailer for Up In The Air a few times in the last couple of days and I think I’ve finally figured out why I like it so much. Jason Reitman‘s latest flick seems to be going in a direction he’s used to. With that being said, I’m still not totally sold on the concept of the story. Here’s my dilemma with this. On one hand, I love how the trailer for this flick doesn’t give too much away. The voice over is amazing, it looks as though Clooney and Co. put in some good performances and the music More >
Glee Returning Tonight!!!!
Sep 9th
First up, I should probably explain that I’m not a HUGE fan of musicals. Sure I like a lot of tunes blasting from my ear buds all of the time, but I’ve never lined up to catch the opening of Cats or anything. Musical theater is awesome, but I’ve just never been into the whole shabang of the event. Enter television/movie versions of musicals. I think it really started with Moulin Rouge for me. The Baz Lurman creation really made me look at the power of music and film all at once. Since then I’ve been somewhat obsessed with productions like Once More More >
Get Back To School You Meddling Kids!!!
Sep 8th
Ah yes, the time of year that everyone under the age of 19 hates the most – the time to go back to school! Well, this is to all of you kids out there that are dreading the next ten months of your life trapped in a classroom learning about things you already can’t stand. Have a great year because you’ve made my life extremely difficult during the past two months in screwing up traffic times, over-crowding, confusing school zone speed limits when nobody is in school and generally making me feel too old on a daily basis. Get back More >
10 Days Till Fringe Premier
Sep 7th
Please share in my excitement when I remind you that the season premier of Fringe is a mere 10 days away!!!!
As a HUGE fan of the series and its creator, this is probably one of the most anticipated days of the year for me. The off season provided some big news in that the series would be moving to Vancouver for production so I’m really excited to see how my home town will be featured on one of the best shows on television right now. Couple that with all of the hints the series has been dropping of late and you More >
Back to the Boondocks
Sep 4th
The trailer for All Saints Day, the sequel to Boondocks Saints has finally hit the Interweb!!!!
Alright, so my excitement isn’t really worthy of the 4 BAMS (!!!!) I give it in the opening statement, but come on, the pointless violence has to tug at your heart at least a little. I wasn’t a gigantic fan of the first film, but I didn’t complain as much as some people. Sure it could be seen a Quentin Tarantino rip-off, but who cares, and really, who isn’t ripping someone off these days? Director Troy Duffy should actually be praised a little for accomplishing what a lot More >
Is that Ando from Heroes?
Sep 3rd
If you’ve been following the Bloated Penguin for a while then you won’t be surprised with my excitement when I say that Ando from Heroes is in a new flick. Titled White on Rice (nice…) James Kyson Lee plays Tim, the best friend of the protagonist. From what I can gather the flick is about a recently divorced guy who moves in with his sister and brother-in-law. He also has to bunk with his nephew who looks like he’s about 9. I’m probably not explaining this well at all but thankfully there is a trailer you can check out if you’re interested. It doesn’t show More >
Jumpman’s History of Flight Experience
Sep 2nd
This is awesome. Thanks to Boog for sharing this yesterday and keeping me up all night checking this thing out. With MJ on the verge of being inducted into the Hall of Fame there have been a lot of minor viral-esque campaigns circulating including a pretty cool Gatorade commercial and now this:
Jumpman has launched “The History of Flight.”
This is possibly the richest site I’ve ever been on in terms of content. The visuals are simple, yet effective and fitting, the messaging is clear, the interaction is flawless and the details are amazing. Chronicling MJ’s pro career up until now, the More >
Facebook Marketplace?
Sep 1st
I’m sure this is still in the Beta phase, but I believe Facebook Marketplace just launched today. By now everyone should have gotten a little notification in the bottom right of their screen when they login to Facebook telling them to check it out. Alright, so I’ve spent the better part of an hour exploring Facebook Marketplace (yes, I have an hour to do this because I’m waiting for approval on a project right now…..) and I’m currently unimpressed. The UI is nothing different than a standard online “Classifieds” site in that there really isn’t anything brand new or spectacular. I’m More >
