Letterman’s Guest Top 10 Announcers
Aug 19th
Letterman is the original – he’s the absolute best when it comes to late night television. I’ll even put him slightly ahead of the Daily Show because of his lasting power and his ability to entertain so many different generations. Fallon, Kimmel, Leno and even Conan really aren’t in the same realm as Letterman and his ability to keep everyone entertained as much as possible. Over the years he’s had some of the strangest, yet most entertaining shticks with Stupid Pet Tricks and Stupid Human Tricks, his adventures with Rupert G and my favorite, the Top 10 List. The other day Letterman had Britney Spears on More >
Dr. Parnassus Trailer
Aug 18th
The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus seems like one of those flicks that just won’t completely come forth and say, “Hey Come Watch Me.” I mean we’ve been hearing about this Terry Gilliam flick since the tragic death of Heath Ledger and the story of how his pals Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Ferrell stepped in to help complete the film, but I think it’s time we actually get to see the movie. This hits a little bit close to home as a lot of the flick was filmed in Burnaby (the suburban bubble I currently reside in) but because of the nature of the flick, More >
Machete’s Cast Looks Pretty Awesome
Aug 17th
Remember the Grindhouse double feature that Tarantino and Rodriguez put together a few years ago? They each made a movie as an homage to the old grindhouse theaters chalk full of blood and gore as well as a serving sized tray of cheese. Although the films themselves weren’t amazing, the fake trailers they put in really blew away the audiences. One of these trailers was so amazing that Robert Rodriguez is making a full on feature out of the concept. This flick of course will be the upcoming Machete.
Here’s the original trailer that was run during Grindhouse:
Machete is filming already and sports an More >
Can’t Decide If I Wanna Watch Legion
Aug 14th
Normally when I see trailers like this I watch them until they stop scarring me. Lets just say this red band trailer for Legion has been playing over and over for the past couple of days and it still sticks with me. I’m not a big horror/terror/gore fan but I’m not really sure if Legion fits into any of these categories. The reason why I’m having trouble deciding to watch or not is actually quite layered. First up, I’m not a huge Paul Bettany fan. I actually think his best work was from First Knight (correction since this morning as V has More >
Winston: The Forgotten Ghostbuster
Aug 13th
Growing up with the Ghostbusters we all had our favorites. I for one will always be partial to Peter Venkman played by Bill Murray, but I’ll always have a soft spot for Winston played by Ernie Hudson. I’m sure a lot people grew up knowing the names of Bill Murray, Dan Akroyd and Harold Raimis, but what about the only Ghostbuster of color Ernie Hudson? Well, I did a little research on our friend Winston and just heard some pretty interesting news. Ernie Hudson is being brought aboard the cast of Heroes to play a detective. No doubt he’ll be on the trail of More >
NBC’s Yo Teach!!!
Aug 12th
If you haven’t seen Funny People yet, then you really should. If not only to see Adam Sandler in probably his best role, but to actually understand the brilliance of the following videos. The scary part is that if NBC actually produced and aired Yo Teach, I would probably already be TiVo’ing it and waiting for the DVD to drop so I could watch all of the special features. Check out some of the clips below.
Pure Awesome.
Here’s a Monologue For Yah
Aug 11th
I remember back in my film school days I was asked to help judge one of the contests being held in the acting classes. The acting department always seemed to have the most fun, running around in their socks all of the time, playing around on yoga mats and generally being goofy for the sake of their careers. Anyways, when I was asked to be a judge at their annual monologue contest I started to imagine what types of monologues I would be hearing. I spoke with a few other judges before the contest started and they gave me the More >
Adventures In Cooking…
Aug 10th
Just about to start cooking my first ever real grown-up meal for the GF’s birthday. Tonight’s menu? Prime Rib.
This is actually just a warning to all of my neighbors letting you all know that if our building begins to vomit smoke and you hear an asian guy running through the halls wearing an apron engulfed with flames – please call someone….
Say What?
