Waiting for Glee
I’m a sucker for musical television. I guess it all started with Buffy‘s Once More WIth Feeling episode, then Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along-Blog and now I’m pretty excited for Fox‘s Glee to pick up again in the fall. I’m not at the point where I’m going to try-out with the local theater for a part in Rent or anything, but I’ve been guilty of humming a tune in the shower every once in a while. Anyways, Glee should be back on TV this fall and I think this will be Fox’s big hit for the season. Fox has fallen way behind in terms of comedy and after canceling a great show like Arrested Development and investing all of their time and cash into (ahem…) Family Guy and everything Seth McFarlane can pull out of his ass they’ve really dug themselves into a hole. Hopefully Glee can bring some of the excitement back to Fox’s comedy lineup.
My only gripe about Glee so far isn’t even about the show, its the fact that Fox decided to air the pilot months before they plan to start airing the show on a regular basis. I guess the strategy is to build up a lot of excitement before the season officially starts and then go from there, but it’s frustrating as a viewer. Anyways, check out the cast from Glee as they cover Journey‘s Don’t Stop Believing at the conclusion of the pilot.
