Slightly Disappointed With Summer 09 Movies So Far
Jul 12th
I have to admit, I’m not totally sold on all of the flicks that have come out this summer. Last night I popped out and watched Bruno expecting it to steal some of the laughter that other summer movies have failed to garner, but I guess it just wasnt’ meant to be. So far my plate has consisted of:
Transformers 2 – lame
Public Enemies – long
Bruno – too much genetalia
Terminator Salvation – McG didn’t get it
On the other hand, there have been three flicks that I would recommend to anyone and everyone.
Up! – Amazing
Star Trek – Wonderful Entertainment
Hangover – 2009 Hit
So basically what I’m saying is that the success More >
I Really Wanna Watch 9!!!
Jul 10th
I’m a sucker for animated story telling so when the trailer for 9 came out a while back I was all over it. Did some research and learned that although Tim Burton is credited as a Producer, the genius behind 9 is actually Director Shane Acker. Back in 2005 Acker put together a little short under the same name (9) and was praised for his animation style, his attention to detail, his character development and simply is unique way of telling a story. Well, over the past half decade the little short has grown into a full-fledged feature fully equipped with star More >
Sometimes… You Just Wanna Eat Hot Dogs
Jul 9th
I just realized that the title of this post could be taken the wrong way… Anyways, I’m going to take this morning to blog about a bit of a serious issue in Vancouver.
Where can you get a good hot dog?
I like to think of myself as a bit of an expert in this area as I’ve enjoyed the mystery, the taste and the simplicity involved with eating hot dogs my entire life. They always remind me of my childhood growing up in the burbs where every once in a while our elementary school class would be treated with “Hot Dog More >
Rain-Soaked Beach Volleyball Results In Flu-Like Symptoms
Jul 8th
Here’s a bit of advice to those think about when playing volleyball on the sandy beaches of Vancouver this summer.
In case of rain, dress accordingly.
I bring you this advice out of experience as yesterday was one of the more unpleasant weather days this summer has had to offer. Couple that with the fact that the volleyball team I play for (Tropic Thunder) had a game last night and you can understand why I’m not feeling all that well today. In the morning when I looked outside I had a feeling it was going to be a wet one so I More >
Heart Attack Grill Too Much For Even Me…
Jul 7th
I’m of the thought that food should be enjoyed not analyzed. I eat for the taste and the satisfaction and never for any other reason. Let me put it this way, if someone were to count the amount of “points,” I consume I would probably have some kind of high score. Anyways, I just thought I mention that before I started talking about the Heart Attack Grill. I’m a little bit obsessed with American fast food. Not just for the taste, but the culture is fascinating. Americans want to eat fast, they want to eat a lot and they want More >
I Want To Work For Veridian Dynamics
Jul 6th
I’ve been watching Better Off Ted for a little while now and although the show itself is pretty hilarious, I’m becoming obsessed with the short informational messages from the fictional company Veridian Dynamics. The voice over is amazing and the simple visuals tell great stories each time. Couple that with the stout, yet effective messaging at the end of each PSA and you’ll probably agree that these are pretty good. Check out a few of them below:
iPhone Fun
Jul 5th
So I finally cracked a few weeks ago and bought the iPhone 3Gs. I posted a while back about trying to decide if I should get one or not and I eventually did. I’m pretty glad I went with the new phone mostly because I’m still in that honeymoon period where everything new is just amazing. I really enjoy downloading free apps, trying them out and getting rid of them. I love how the phone is also an iPod. And most of all, I now have a phone, browser, still camera and video camera all with one device. For instance, More >
No Go On Cosmo – Go Through Kanliving Instead
Jul 3rd
Hey what’s going down?
Flash intros are lame....
So yesterday the GF and I decided to do something we haven’t done in a very long time – we decided to book an appointment to go and look at a condo. Why? Well, we’ve owned our home for just over a year, but because we’re not millionaires nor are we willing to dip too far into savings, we have moved to the suburbs (shudder). It has always been our goal to move back to the city so both of us could be closer to work, but the financial barrier has prevented us. Anyways, More >
