Help me decide on a new theme!!!!
May 23rd
So I figured with my time in hell finally coming to an end, I would change the look of the Bloated Penguin. Sounds like a logical reason to do so right?
Well, to be honest, I’m probably going to have a bit of time on my hands in between gigs, so what better way to spend it than to upload a brand new theme to the blog? I guess I could go outside and see this sun that everyone keeps telling me about, but then I’d have to grease myself up with sunscreen, get in shape and be social – three More >
I probably should have known better….
May 22nd
Doing things on the cheap is always the best concept, but does it ever really work out? Take for example my little experience at the dollar store yesterday. After struggling through a few iChat meetings where clients were having a difficult time hearing me, I finally broke and decided to experiment into the world of sound and mics. Normally I would just head over to some gigantic tech-store a-la Best Buy and grab something quick, but as I was roaming around the suburban death-trap known as the Mall I thought I’d try it on the cheap before I invested the time More >
Comparing Finales
May 20th
A few posts back I listed all of the shows I follow on a weekly basis and how all of them were coming to an end. Well, after watching my recorded versions of Monday’s finales, I think everything is done for this season. Sadly, I might actually have to get my ass off the couch soon – but we won’t dwell on the negative. Today I want to talk a bit about how a good finale is treated.
I won’t go into every show, in fact I’ll probably only profile 4 of them, but I think each show that I watch falls More >
One More Week!!!!!
May 19th
I woke up this morning kind of pissed off and kind of tired, (nothing out of the ordinary), then I looked at the calendar and realized that I’ve only got 1 week remaining on my contract!!!! If you’ve been following my adventures in the corporate world then you’ll understand my excitement. I originally came from an environment where work was fun – I had the best time of my life goofing around, getting stuff done and drinking until my liver hurt like someone punched me in the nuts. Then I decided to take the free lance/rogue route and worked primarily More >
Bourne Again
May 17th
It’s a glorious long weekend out here in Vancouver and I decided to take advantage of the time off… And watch a trilogy of movies. Yeah I know I probably should have gone outside at least once, but I’ve still got one day left right? That’s the beauty of a long weekend.
Anyways, here are my thoughts towards the Bourne Trilogy after watching all three straight through for about the third time in a year.
You know when you see an actor and you neglect to use their real name when referring too them? For example, Hugh Jackman is Wolverine! Eli Wood is Frodo! and More >
Phew! Dollhouse Returns
May 16th
After all of the confusion and argument over the state of Dollhouse, Fox finally grew some and have decided to renew the series for another season. The news will officially be made on Monday, but for us interweb folks it’ll seem as old as Chocolate Rain. Anyways, it looks as though the deal will be for another 13 episodes, but if its anything like this year 13 actually means 12…
Just a quickie before I head out for the long weekend.
Stylizing Movie Posters
May 14th
Everyone has experienced this in one form or another at least once in their lives.
So you’ve arrive a bit earlier to the theatre on your way to check out something you’ve been waiting to see and you notice something that catches your eye, something interesting and intriguing, something exciting and mysterious, something artistic and different from anything else – you catch the latest movie poster hung in the hallways of the local multi-plex. But what is it about the movie poster that really peaks our interests? It could be the exciting tag lines attached (“They’re Baaaaaack, Judgment Day Is Coming, More >
Getting Lost For Like 3 Hours Tonight
May 13th
Normally I hate it when a series devotes and entire episode to flash backs or summaries so newbie fans can get caught up, but with a series like Lost, I almost appreciate it. Tonight marks the fifth season finale of the series and included with the 2-hour episode is a 1-hour recap show (they’ve done this a few times over the years so people don’t get too confused). I don’t think I’d ever feel comfortable reviewing a series like this because there are so many elements, but maybe once I devote my life to sitting through the entire series when More >
