All caught up!

I'm Lost
Took a few weeks but I’m finally caught up with Lost. Season 5 has gotten off to a pretty good start I guess, but I’m just not as interested this season as much as I have been in the past. Maybe its because of the long lay-off or maybe its because most of the story is taking place away from the island, or maybe (and this is probably it) I’m just really tired of TV shows trying to tackle time travel.
I’ve got this theory that’s probably not true, but there is no documentation stating that it is not so More >
simplicity vs organized complexity

So Simpo!
Working in web, and especially language, I come a cross a lot conversations that involve voice and tone. This goes across the board for things like design and interaction, but specifically for voice and tone I think there is something to be said about simplicity. Every client I have ever had believes that their brand should sound smarter, be more clever, give more of a personal feel and evoke some sort of emotional reaction more than the next. This of course is always fine, but there is something great about simply saying what you mean.

Dreamworks relies on Star Power

Dreamworks Over-Does it Again
I’m really unimpressed with the casting decisions of Monsters versus Aliens. Dreamworks is known for casting big stars as voice actors in their features, but after IMDB’ing Monsters Versus Aliens it seems like they just highjacked a Hollywood guest list and dropped as many big names as they could into one film.
Here’s a direct quote from their website:
Okay, nevermind. The site is in flash and I can’t copy and paste. I won’t attempt to retype it all because it’s basically just repeating itself with the numerous awards the actors who own them. To give you an idea, More >
I need an Ando Cycle

Ando's New Destiny
Okay, so I’m a few days late and I know it’s not a real excuse, but I’ve been busy. Anyways, I finally had a chance to watch Heroes: Fugitives last night and I’ve got some first impressions that might surprise some people.
First off, I don’t know how much of a hand Brian Fuller lent in this episode, but just hearing about his return to the show was a breath of fresh air. I posted a little while back about Fuller’s importance to the show and felt his return would generate much better episodes than anything we’ve seen so far More >
So close to release

NDA will not allow me... Sorry
Hey whats going on everyone?
Just thought I’d drop some info on the game I’ve been working on for what seems like years. I was contracted by [unnamed company due to NDA] to write a narrative component for a brand new game that will be released to the public some time this month. I went to check everything out yesterday and also provide some finishing touches and, I’m not kidding you, this thing looks amazing.
When it drops I’ll pump it everywhere; I’ll also be dropping a list of names that inspired some of the charater and More >
Transformers ROTF – Ouch

Jonah Hill in Transformers 2
As I’m sure many of you have already seen, Michael Bay is back ruining our childhoods with his second venture into the world of Optimus Prime and Megan Fox. The trailer ran during this weekend’s Super Bowl and probably drew just as much attention as the game itself.
Here are my initial thoughts on the sequel’s trailer:
Michael Bay could have a career in simply making movie trailers. He wouldn’t get bashed so much by true fans and people probably wouldn’t care that he looks like Kenny G’s little brother. His “directing” skills are aimed more towards horny More >

Fitzgerald scores go-ahead TD
Just read this morning that the Superbowl broadcast was different for people watching the feed in Tucson. Apparently someone (?????) highjacked the station’s feed and inserted a porn clip at the height of the game. Lets set the stage:
Warner, down 20-17, drops back and finds Larry Fitzgerald over the middle. Larry sprints his way into the end zone and celebrates the Cardinal’s first lead of the game. He looks into the camera and winds up to spike the ball when-

Dream State
Rejoining the workforce has been a big change in my life. Gone are the days of waking up at noon and sitting around in my pajamas till the evening. Gone are the days of watching terrible late night TV and playing video games until sunrise. It’s like it was all this distant dream of a life I wish I had… again.
I can now appreciate the term TGIF – probably the worst acornym ever created, but mostly because it also refers to a bad American family restaurant chain that specializes in microwaving.
